A little more about me….
I'm a native raised, white-passing, cisgendered male currently residing on Abenaki land (Vermont). I find deep gratitude and purpose being able to support people on their journey to become their most effective, whole, and authentic selves. Whether that’s as a leader, a parent, a partner or community member, we all have desires for well-being, meaning and connection.
I was raised practicing the teachings and traditions of my Anishinaabe ancestors. At the age of 11, my grandmother (full-blood Potawatomi/Ojibway) introduced me to the Wabeno (Learning) Lodge where I spent countless weekends, until early hours of the night, in ceremony; talking, listening, learning and being with my elders and community. I had the honor and privilege to learn from a number of Native American spiritual healers from an early age, which I bring to my work today as a coach and bodyworker.
Nature as Teacher
For the past 15 years, I have had the incredible privilege of co-leading wilderness-based leadership journeys with multinational executives alongside my colleague and dear friend, Rolf Winters. Together, we led week long immersed experiences to remote locations such as Isle Royale National Park, the Colorado River, and Utah’s Fisher Towers. Throughout these adventures, we have shared leadership wisdom rooted in my indigenous teachings, creating truly fulfilling experiences.
As a wilderness therapy instructor, I have found joy in guiding young people on their journeys of emotional growth, instilling in them the values of accountability and leadership. After spending over 200 nights sleeping on the ground each year, I took my experince inside the University of Vermont Health Network where I have dedicated the last 13 years to working as a Senior Leadership and Change Consultant. In this role, I have led large-scale transformations, coached executive leaders, and crafted culture strategies that keep the human at the center of change.
Yet, the most rewarding (and often challenging!) role I cherish is being a father to my three wonderfully spirited children. They teach me about myself daily and remind me that aliveness moves in many forms.
