About Me
I'm a native raised, white-passing, cis man currently residing on Abenaki land (Vermont). Since I can remember I have been supporting people in their process of change. I have worked as an experiential educator, wilderness guide, executive coach and organizational change consultant, and a somatic practitioner. The most rewarding (and challenging!) role I have held is as a father to three amazingly spirited children.
I find deep gratitude and purpose being able to support people on their journey to become their most effective, whole, and authentic selves. Whether that’s as a leader, a parent, a partner or community member, we all have desires for well-being, meaning and connection.
I was raised practicing the teachings and traditions of my Anishinaabe ancestors. At the age of 11, my grandmother (full-blood Potawatomi/Ojibway) introduced me to the Wabeno (Learning) Lodge where I spent countless weekends, until early hours of the night, in ceremony; talking, listening, learning and being with my elders and community. I had the good fortune to learn from a number of Native American spiritual healers from an early age, which I bring to my work today as a coach and bodyworker.
Experience Informs My Practice
In additional to coaching & bodywork, I hold a teaching position with the Strozzi Institute for Somatics where I teach a 9 month Somatic Coaching Certification program. For 13 years, I have worked a Senior Leadership and Change Consultant for the University of Vermont Health Network leading large scale transformations, coaching executive leaders and informing culture strategies.
For 15 years, I have run a wilderness-based leadership journeys for multinational executives, connecting them with indigenous teachings. I have served as the President of the Vermont Chapter of the Association for Talent Development where I lead a revitalization effort of the Association. I have spent a semester with the National Outdoor Leadership School where I spent 97 days in the American west. I have worked as a wilderness therapy instructor, guiding and teaching youth about emotional growth, accountability and leadership.
Training & Certifications
I bring a certification as a Somatic Coach with the Strozzi Institute as well as a Brain-Based Certified Coach from the NeuroLeadership Institute. I hold a masters degree in Experiential Education and over the last 20 years have focused my personal development on the areas of Positive Psychology, Adult Stage Development, Mindfulness, and Applied Neuroscience.
